Shelve tops

The RTP cabinet, shelf, bookshelf, etc tiles with a recolored top. You may want to increase it's brightness depending on the tilesets you're using.

I'll have some more variants and frankensprites of this in my game, but it's up to you to make your own. Any requests? Most of what I've made won't be released to the public unless you ask. :)

"The Collection from Beyond". Lurk over at TigSource is working on one really interesting project for their Inspired by Cthulhu contest. It's essentially a hidden object game, but with Cthulhu monstrosities that emerge into the photos if you aren't fast enough. Check out his amazing concept/gameplay art!

Wind Wraith

A dark, strange creature with it's hair (I think? I forgot lol) acting as a tail as it sweeps through areas. It's meant to look odd and somewhat familiar. He was an edit of the first character on the "Evil" charsheet.

Treasure Window

This day I'll be releasing another script for use in RMVX. It's a window that appears when you find treasure that displays the name & item icon. I had created it for LHA, but one of my testers also commented it reminded them of Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest.

Treasure Window RMVX script on GameBaker.com, in the Rpg Maker VX scripts section.

You can customize the graphics it shows as well. See the script link for full details.

Do you know of a great playable project that needs more attention? Let me know and I'll be happy to link it in one of my updates.

Dark Faeries

A good creature turned bad. These play a (very minor) role in LHA. One of the mini-quests in the Mana Fields involves you protecting the last tree from waves of them.

Be sure to check his blog regularly for handy advice that can help you with creating your game. :)

Dev Advice

You should try avoiding colors and sound effects for your puzzles. Many players are colorblind or hearing impaired. If you do use colors, try to make sure they're noticeably different from each other besides hue changes.

Try to leave some of your story unexplained. The player's imagination can fill in the blanks in a much more interesting way than you could.

Up & Coming

I've been working hard this past week on a new feature for LHA. The full game will now have outdoor areas that act as optional giant dungeons/quest areas along the way to the real destinations.

More tiles! These are another set of buildings, used often in LHA. I'll post a follow-up later with additional resources I made for this dungeon set.

Can't think of ideas (for anything)? Try a generator! I used them extensively in the creation of the game I made all these resources for.

Another dungeon set for you, however I suppose you could use it for regular buildings. This one is seen quite a bit in LHA.

Every door doesn't need to be locked with a key or guards who tell the player to shove off. Try to think of creative ways to bar the player's passage from areas.

Try to use unique or interesting sound effects instead of the usual selections. You'd be surprised how much of a difference that can make to someone's opinion of your game.

A new monster character for you readers this fine evening. Why settle for an ordinary bat when you can have one made out of fire?

Take the time to play other people's games. You never know where you'll find the inspiration to make yours even better.
